As a responsible window blind manufacturer and distributor, Sunrite Blinds Ltd is very conscious of the issues surrounding child safety. Due to this, Sunrite has taken a number of steps over the years to reduce the possible risks that window blinds could pose to small children.
While most types of blinds have to be made with cords or looped chains, there is a lot that can be done to mitigate any possible risk:
- Cords can be cut short, so that they are out of reach of children.
- Pulleys can be fixed onto window sills or frames to ensure that chain loops are inaccessible.
- Some blinds can be manufactured without cords (e.g. spring roller blinds).
- It is also possible to manufacture some blinds in a way that will conceal any cords inside the structure of the blind (e.g. Perfect Fit).
- Further to this, every blind that we make has a child safety warning label attached to it.
These are just a few of the many different actions that can be taken with regards to child safety. The most important one though is to educate the end users.
Despite several media reports over the last few years highlighting child safety in relation to window blind products, the general public is still largely unaware of the options that are available to them. Our highly trained sales team is more than happy to advise which options are most suitable in your situation. Sometimes simple things (such as how and where blinds are fitted) can be the most effective.
